Technology

We know that the rapid pace of technology development has thrust us into an information / communications age which challenges traditional notions of educational content and methodology.  The Catholic Partnership Schools educates students to be learners and problem solvers, able to seek and effectively use information and communication to expand their world and pursue real-world learning.

CPS views technology as an essential tool, capable of enhancing engagement,  communication, and the productive capacity of students, staff and parents. The opportunity to use technology to learn as well as develop technological proficiency enables students and staff to maximize their access to information, enhance their problem solving skills, and develop their abilities to be effective and responsible communicators in the information age.

Catholic Partnership Schools students and teachers have access to Smart Boards and work stations in every classroom. Additionally, each school has a fully-equipped computer lab.

 Smart Board Technology

Smart Board technology is a tool for teachers to enhance learning and engagement in the classroom. Smart Board Technology is an interactive whiteboard that teachers can use to help students obtain more in-depth instruction while encouraging greater participation and interaction with the teacher, other students, and the subject matter. Smart Board Technology allows teachers to utilize online resources to develop lessons and to introduce children to worlds beyond their classroom.

Classroom Work Stations

Each Catholic Partnership Schools classroom is equipped with at least seven up-to-date computers in a work station. This technology resource allows teachers to use technology in developing learning centers and to access online programs that reinforce classroom learning. Our schools use the classroom work stations to complete the North West Education Association Assessments three times each year, as well as to participate in the First in Math Program.

School Computer Labs

Catholic Partnership Schools are committed to equipping our students for learning in the 21st century. Each Partnership school has a fully functioning computer lab with printing capabilities. Students receive regular instruction on how to use technology to communicate and to enhance learning.
