Hundreds Turn Out for the 2nd Annual Dreams of Our Children Event on May 15th

IMG0216-MThe Rutgers University Student Center and main stage of the Gordon Theater pulsed with creative energy and enthusiasm as an overflow crowd of families, friends, benefactors, and community artists turned out to support our students on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

Guests first mingled with our young student artists as they proudly stood by their impressive fine arts displays filled with paintings, sculpture, mosaics and other creative expressions using a variety of media.

Once in the Gordon Theater, those same guests thrilled to the student musical, spoken word, and other theatrical performances developed in conjunction with our arts partners Abrakadoodle, Greater South Jersey Chorus, Perkins Center for the Arts, Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts, and Symphony in C.

Domenica Foundation Community Scholarships were awarded to 13 8th graders to attend Camden Catholic, Paul VI, and Gloucester Catholic high schools. John Langan and Judith Nadell Community Scholars awards went to five Partnership students to attend Camden Catholic High School.

In addition, a student from each of the five schools received an Excellence & Leadership Award and one Partnership student received the Courage, Compassion, and Confidence award.  A nominee from each of our five schools was also recognized in this special category.
