Support CPS’s critical operating needs, from keeping the lights on to offering quality literacy programs, through one-time or monthly giving.

When you give, you change CPS students’ lives and put them on a path to success. You can help students break the cycle of poverty and violence through a holistic, innovative education.

By sponsoring a student, you can unlock their potential. And see firsthand the impact your donation makes! Your gift covers the majority of the annual cost to educate one CPS student.

Many sponsors get to know their students through our sponsorship events. Enjoy board games and breakfast or lunch with students. There is no obligation to become involved with your student. However you choose to approach your sponsorship, CPS will keep you updated on the student’s growth.  

How "Sponsor a Student" (SAS) Works 

• You, or a group of friends, make an annual gift of $7,000 to cover the cost of one CPS student’s education.
• CPS sends you regular updates about your sponsored student's progress during the year.
• You are invited to spend time with your sponsored student at annual SAS gatherings and other activities.
• You are not obligated to meet or interact with your sponsored student if you prefer to watch him or her grow from a distance or anonymously.
• Gifts to the "Sponsor a Student" program are unrestricted gifts.

CPS will send your honoree(s) a card notifying them of the gift. All gifts will be recognized in our annual report.

Will your employer or your spouse’s employer match your gift? You can often double or triple the impact of your gift through your company’s matching gift program.

From keeping the lights on to offering quality programs, your company can make a difference each day in the lives of CPS students.

Our annual Beef & Beer, Golf Event and Spotlight Awards offer opportunities to support outstanding inner-city education and to be acknowledged via listings or logo recognition in CPS publications and promotional materials, such as event signage, program books, and webpages.

Encourage your employees to support CPS through:

Your employees can make a difference in a variety of roles, such as library aides, mentors, coaches, and after-school tutors and coaches are always needed. There are also committee positions available. 

In-kind donations for sports teams, classroom use, or events can help CPS defray costs. Contact the Development Office to learn about current needs.
